The Administration Division is responsible for the administrative functions of the Arizona State Land Department, including accounting, budget, procurement and human resources.
The Accounting Section ensures the Department’s finances are handled in accordance with the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and follow the rules and procedures adopted by the Department of Administration’s General Accounting Office www.gao.az.gov
The Section’s primary purpose is to properly bill, receive, and distribute Trust receipts. The Section also processes the Department’s expenditures.

Budget & Procurement
The Budget & Procurement Unit is responsible for the development and monitoring of the Department’s budget and for procurement activities.
Budget activities include developing the Department’s budget request for submission to the Governor’s Office of Strategic Planning and Budgeting www.ospb.state.az.us/
, the allocation of the enacted budget, and monitoring expenditures for compliance with legislative and executive intent as well as ensuring the Department’s adherence to the budgeted amount.
The unit also ensures the Department’s compliance with the State Procurement Code. It assists staff with procurement questions and acts as the Department’s liaison with the State Procurement Office www.azdoa.gov/spo
to meet the Department’s procurement needs.
The Human Resources Unit is responsible for recruiting, hiring, and conducting other personnel actions involving State Land Department employees. It is also a resource for employees regarding Department and state employee benefits.
